Situated on 120 acres of beautiful, forested land in Cornwall, PA, YMCA Camp Rocky Creek provides day and overnight camping experiences, environmental and adventure education, and community events to youth and families. We are committed to quality, safety, affordability and accessibility.

Our History
Steeped in tradition, YMCA Camp Rocky Creek was previously known as YMCA Camp Shand. Prior to Camp Shand, it was Camp Kiwanis. In 2021, the Lebanon YMCA partnered with the Lebanon County Commissioners to continue to operate the camp and to keep it within our community. Today, our purpose is to improve the quality of life in our community by offering programs, services and facilities that promote strong families, good health, fitness, wellness, community services, child and adult development with equality for all.

Counselor in Training (CIT) Camp
Being a Counselor in Training (CIT) offers a whole new world of knowledge and confidence! If you are ready to serve as a role model for younger campers and make a difference in the lives of many, than this program was made for you! The CIT program is a great steppingstone to becoming a camp counselor or leader in your community.
Our program provides endless opportunities for young adults to learn a variety of outdoor skills, facilitation techniques, childcare procedures and much more. They will learn about their own leadership styles and get hands on experience teaching younger campers during their second week. All CITs receive an end of program review which help them decide on the next steps to take in their leadership experience.
Our CIT program is available to those who are 15-17 years of age. CIT’s stay over the weekend during their two-week program.
All CITs receive a free FOX T-SHIRT at camp!
Early Registration
Register for CIT by December 8 to receive a free Camp Rocky Creek Sweatshirt to place under the Christmas tree for your camper! When orders are ready, you will receive an email and instructions on how to pick up your sweatshirt(s).
Register by Jan 1 to receive a free Camp Rocky Creek Sweatshirt during Summer Camp
Tier pricing is not income-based but is based on what your family is comfortable with paying. All campers receive the same camp experience regardless of the tier their family pays.
- TIER A: This tier most closely reflects camp operations. We ask families who are able, to participate at this level
- TIER B: This tier is partially subsidized through funding from donors. Please participate at this level if it is right for your family.
- TIER C: This tier is more heavily subsidized through funding from donors. Please participate at this level if it keeps camp affordable for your family.
Scholarships
The YMCA has made a commitment not to turn anyone away due to the inability to pay. We want youth to experience everything camp has to offer, so if you cannot afford the cost of our lowest tier, you can apply for additional assistance by completing a YCRC Financial Assistance application. The application can be found our Camp Rocky Creek webpage or by calling into the camp office (717)450-3565

Overnight Camp
Overnight Camp is the perfect opportunity for your child to immerse themselves in all aspects of camp! While camp is structured, it allows each child the independence to design their schedule. There are different opportunities where they will spend time with their cabin mates and will have the opportunity to choose from a variety of activities like creative arts, athletics, environmental discoveries, paddle sports, high adventure, swimming, target sports and more!
Campers will be exposed to a rustic camping, staying in cabins for the week, and build their confidence while exploring a breathtaking outdoor environment. This unplugged experience will bring long-lasting friendships and a lifetime of memories.
Overnight camp is available for those who are ages 8-14.

Weeks of Camp (Sunday -Friday)
June 22-27 – Heroes in Training
We’re brave and we’re bold! We need everyone to unite and defeat the camp villains and protect the entire camp. Learn what it takes to become a hero and show how to use caring, honesty, respect and responsibility to guide your adventure!
July 6-11 – Shipwrecked
Ahoy, there – Are you ready for a week-long treasure hunt with pirate-themed activities. Whether you want to find the buried treasure or walk the plank, you are in for a fun-filled week of discovery. Do you have what it takes to find the hidden treasure but be on the lookout for pirates!
July 13-18 – Time Traveler
Get ready to travel through time & space! Campers will bring back styles from our favorite decades as we throw back to the 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s and launch forward to the future!
July 27-Aug 1 – Fairytales & Fantasies
Be our guest this summer as we dream, soar, and dive into a whole new world of stories and imagination! This will be a week filled with fairy tales, fantasy, and the enchanting magic of make-believe! Get out of the swamp and into camp for a wild week full of your favorite fairy tales and magical opportunities!
Aug 3-8 – Lost in Space
Buckle up, campers, and get ready for some intergalactic camp fun! Camp Rocky Creek has been turned into Rocky Creek Space station this week and we need your help exploring space and our planet!

Winter Camp Meet Up!
Winter Camp Meet Up: Feb 22, 2025
Saturday 1 pm – 3:30 pm
Join us at Camp Rocky Creek for a mid-way camp reunion! All past Camp Rocky Creek Campers are welcome and can bring their families.
During the event we will create winter crafts, play games (based on the weather) and end with hot chocolate!
Don’t miss your chance to visit camp during the winter season, say hi to past camp friends, and make some new memories. 2024 trading post merchandise will be available at this event. Samples of this summer (2025) trading post will be available to review but not purchase.
